Rick Eberle & MyLITV Present The Tri-State Area’s Top Unsigned Talent with Performance & Interview Segment Aired on Verizon FiOS1 Long Island
Amityville, NY (December, 2015) — Airing some of the best unsigned music acts since 2010, My Long Island TV’s Rick’s Rising Stars (which airs on Verizon FiOS1News) –presented by All Music Inc.–continues to shine the spotlight on local talent as it returns to REVOLUTION Bar & Music Hall for its first taping of 2016! On Wednesday, January 13th at 7:00PM Sofus, Just B. Polo, Bunktown Falls, and City Alley will take to the stage as they’re filmed for performance and interview segments showcasing their talent at one of the Island’s top music venues located at 140 Merrick Rd, Amityville, NY 11701!
After seeing news on Long Island turn more and more negative, Creator and Executive Producer Waldo Cabrera used his experience in television and as a community activist to launch a web based TV station- MyLITV.com, a kinetic collection of positive Long Island features about the people and events that make Long Island communities great.
Within its first year in existence, MyLITV.com won the BOLI (Best On Long Island) for Best Internet News and Best Internet Politics. At the Fair Media Council’s (FOLIO Awards), MyLITV.com (Islip.TV) was the only web site to receive this journalism award.
On television, since 2009, the “My Long Island TV” show has been honored with dozens of local and national journalism awards.
Presented by music industry veteran and insider Rick Eberle, the host and co-producer of “Rick’s Rising Stars” has had a long and illustrious career in the entertainment industry as a Publicist, Talent Agent, Artist Manager, Musician, Songwriter, Singer, Guitarist and TV/Radio Personality.
Rick’s band Iridesense (1993 – present, which also includes Tara Eberle-Drouin on Vocals/Bass, Rich Drouin on Drums, Rob Viccari on Guitar), where he is a founding member and co-lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist, has toured the US opening for major acts such as Gin Blossoms, Spin Doctors and Sugar Ray and placed songs on the Nickelodeon Network shows Drake & Josh, Zoey 101 and iCarly. The band has several independent label releases – Cool Dream Tomorrow (1997), Iridesense (2001), A Trip Called Life (2007), Secret Constellation (2011) and Thought Parade (2015).
His music business career began in New Media where he spent time working on online initiatives for Pink, Usher, Outkast, Dido and others at Arista Records in NYC. Rick left Manhattan to begin work in venue management, booking and promotions for The Downtown Concert Venue – with artists like Jewel, Fall Out Boy, Maroon 5 and Gavin Degraw – and handled PR for The Crazy Donkey Concert Venue – for acts like Bowling for Soup, LMFAO, Cinderella and Cobra Starship – while both venues were open and thriving on the Long Island music scene. Rick also has a long radio career in the Long Island, NY market which includes time in sales/promotion at 92.7 WLIR FM, as co host on 94.3 WMJC FM (2007-2010) of his weekly emerging artists show “Unlabeled” with Rob Rush, and then as promotions director at 94X FM (2011-2012) and 94.3 The Shark FM (2012-2013) where he was instrumental in the initial branding and launch of the station as promotion director, occasional overnight host and on site correspondent for online content. He also hosted several episodes of “Uncharted” a podcast for emerging artists.
In Television, Rick began co-producing “Rising Stars” for “My Long Island TV” in 2010 and has aired over 100 episodes so far. He is also a music and entertainment on site correspondent at IndiMusic TV and an in studio events host for The Weekly Show at Inravio.com.
The Rick Eberle Agency was founded in 2013 after being merged from Rick’s music company PopCore Entertainment (1997 – 2012). Handling publicity, social media, and some talent and management agency duties for venues, festivals, conventions, TV and radio stations, bands, artists, actors, authors, chefs and other companies of all sorts he has successfully produced and/or promoted events with acts like Trey Songz, Ryan Leslie, Ninedays, Push Play, Ed Burns, Hugh Grant, Daniel Baldwin, Brian Dennehy, Paul Sorvino, Susie Essman, Phylicia Rashad, Baz Luhrmann and others.
With an eclectic mix of musical genres from rock to reggae, funk, jazz, hip-hop, and alternative- Sofus, Just B.
