Oogee Wawa’s Rise Continues as They Get Ready to Headline The Paramount September 26th

Long Island’s Premier Alternative Reggae Act One of First Local Groups in Genre to Perform Top Billing at Momentous Venue

Huntington, NY (September, 2015) — As the the Summer draws to a close the inevitable back-to-reality feeling is beginning to set in for many and “Back to School” ads are running rampant, but for Long Island’s own in-demand Alternative Reggae sensations Oogee Wawa– that is definitely not the case! As they continue to chase the endless summer with upcoming Labor Day weekend shows at Ocean City, MD’s Caribbean Pool Bar, Riptide Pool Bar, and Kirby’s Red Onion (along with an interview on 98.1FM’s “Irie Radio”), Casino Bar in Davis Park, NY, Dublin Deck in Patchogue NY, and many more…..it’s all leading up to the “main event” as they’ll hit the stage to headline The Paramount in Huntington, NY Saturday, September 26th! (Full Tour Schedule below)

Having played with the likes of Slightly Stoopid, SOJA, Sublime with Rome, The Dirty Heads, The Wailers, Badfish, Ballyhoo!, Passafire, rocking the 2015 Beer Fields Craft Beer & Music Festival alongside Collie Buddz, and hitting the road with a touring schedule of over 200 shows a year, the band released their second LP “More Sand Than Money” this past April. After rocking with 311, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and The Green at The Great South Bay Music Festival this past July and the Long Beach International Film Festival’s “Taste On the Beach” in August, the band also filmed a LIVE taping of “Rick’s Rising Stars”  at Revolution Bar & Music Hall to air on Verizon Fios Channel 1 in the coming weeks! As they prepare to head out on the road for some East Coast college performances later this Fall with a recent endorsement from Korg USA and a new video for hit single “Feelin’ Alive Today” soon to be released, the band that seems to make the live music stage a second home has a ton in store!

Before officially starting Oogee Wawa- MC Jesse Lee Roenbeck of Centereach, JP Aceto on guitar and vocals of Baiting Hollow, Chad Chadwick on bass of Selden, and Nick Loiodice on drums and vocals of Smithtown were friends just messing around playing the bar scene so many Long Island musicians know and clamor to on nights and weekends to get a little bit of that adrenaline pumping, big-or-small crowd cheering rush that comes with performing live. Forming in 2008, the band began playing consistent shows to ever-growing crowds before the release of their first LP- 2012’s “Ride Waves”, and as their momentum got going they quickly became the island’s in-demand alternative reggae act from Long Beach to Montauk.
