WHAT: From August 3rd to August 5th, 2016 Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF) is celebrating its 5th anniversary and the resiliency of Long Beach, New York after being nearly destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. This unique, beachfront film festival is kicking off on August 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Long Beach Boardwalk at the Allegria Hotel. The kickoff press conference will include some of the festival’s featured filmmakers, participating chefs and musicians, supporting politicians, charitable partners and the LBIFF founders. The speaking portion of the event will conclude with a toast of champagne to kickoff the festival and celebrate a milestone.
During its three day run, the festival will screen an international slate of more than 40 films, including feature-length narratives, documentaries; short and animated movies open for all ages. In addition, the festival will feature array of nightly special events, including red carpet premieres, filmmaker receptions, compelling filmmaker Q&As, and musical performances. The festival will conclude on Friday, August 5th, with Taste on The Beach which is a collaboration of more than 40 of Long Island’s premier wine, sprits, restaurants and chefs offering their most popular and summer season dishes for attendees right on the beach.
