WHAT: The Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF) is underway and is celebrating its 5th anniversary and the resiliency of Long Beach, New York after being nearly destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.  This unique, beachfront film festival is celebrating its final night on Friday, August 5th with a star studded red carpet right on the boardwalk at the Allegria Hotel.  The red carpet begins at 5:00 p.m. and will kick off the Taste on the Beach portion of the festival, Long Island’s ultimate culinary event.  Taste on the Beach is a collaboration of more than 40 of Long Island’s premier wine, sprits, restaurants and chefs offering their most popular and summer season dishes for attendees right on the beach.  Dozens of directors, renowned filmmakers, television and film stars, NFL icons, and local artists will walk the red carpet on the festival’s final night.  Among the celebrities, highlights include:

·  Barbara Rosenblat, most recognized for her role as one of Litchfield Penitentiary’s finest felons, Miss Rosa Cisneros, in the Netflix hit seriesOrange is the New Black

·  Farrah Krenek, known for her roles in Sisters and  Orange Is the New Black

·  Larry Romano, featured in The King of Queens, Donnie Brasco, The Thin Red Line, NYPD Blue, CSI, NY, LA Law and Lock Up and many more.

·  Mark O’Connell, Long Beach native and band member of Taking Back Sunday

·  Sal Valentinetti, current contestant on NBC’S Americas Got Talent

·  Robbie Rosen, featured in the Top 6 on Season 10 of American Idol.

·  Raquel Castro, featured on season one of NBC’s The Voice and best known for her role in the 2004 movie Jersey Girls.

·   Donnie Klang, winner of MTV’s Making the Band 4 and was awarded his own solo contract by Diddy.

·  The Janes, a Pop/R&B Girl Group based out of New York.

·   Brooke Moriber, singer/songwriter known for acting appearances on Law and Order, A Town’s Revenge, Off-Track Betty and more.

·  Marissa Ann, appeared on Season 3 of NBC’s The Voice. She is the youngest competitor to appear on the show.

                      Professional Athletes

·  Eric and Sabrina Coleman – Eric is a former NFL Safety: NY Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, NFL Analyst (SNY) & Practice Manager at Core Medical New York. His wife Sabrina is an actress.

·   Wesley Walker, former professional NFL wide receiver for the New York Jets from 1977 to 1989.

·   Gian Villante, American mixed martial artist currently fighting in the light heavyweight division of the UFC.

·    Boyd Melson, an American light middleweight boxer.

·    Will Skudin, an American Professional Surfer from Long Beach, NY
